Agree a fallback before normal communications fail
Phone and broadband outages can affect calls, messages and internet services. Travel disruption can also prevent household members returning by their usual route. Official Prepare guidance recommends written contacts, a meeting point and thinking about who could help if normal communications are unavailable.
A fallback should be simple enough to remember and should not depend entirely on the same device, account or network as the normal plan.
Your action: agree one fallback contact method
Agree who household members should try to contact, or what they should do next, if normal messaging is unavailable. Write down the essential contact number and make sure the people involved understand the arrangement.
Keep the arrangement proportionate. Do not publish meeting points, children’s routines or other sensitive household details.
Reliant Forge connection
Record a short, non-sensitive version in the Household Plan. Review it after a move, school or care change, or when the named contact is no longer suitable.
